
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, is a striker with San Diego Wave FC (NWSL), which is the top level of women's soccer in United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 alongside Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. [8][9The 9 Morgan was picked as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she was able to graduate early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut there , and was a key player in helping the team win the league title. Morgan was only 22 at the time and the youngest member of the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. Morgan scored the game-winning goal against Canada in the semi-final game at the 2012 London Olympics. She was second in the United States to have 20 goals and 21 assists for 2012, making her the youngest and sixth-highest scoring player in the country to score 20 goals in one year. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was the FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2019. She was selected to both the Dream Team for both tournaments. In 2019, she was awarded the Silver Boot.
